Usability Test

For my usability test i used one of my roomates. I sat her down in front of cnn.com because i know she doesn't often use it. Considering she doesn't know much about what's going on around the world lately. I first asked her to find out about U.S. news, she didn't struggle much at all on this one, because it was just a tab towards the top of the page. Then i asked her to find a blog on a recent article. Again it wasn't too difficult for her to find, however it took a little longer than the first task because she had to scroll up and down the page a few times. The next task was to find a live feed of the news from cnn. This was her hardest task to complete. It took probably about two minutes because the live feed was a small hyperlink just above the footer on the homepage. Overall, cnn.com is a pretty well laid out website. I'm sure that anyone who uses it would not have a problem finding what they are looking for, even if it's not extremely specific.

Escalator Spin

The escalator spin is not the norm when it comes to playing on escalators, however it is so much better. A typical way to play on an elevator is to run up the stairs that are coming down, as if it's a challenge. However the escalator spin occurs on the railing of the escalator. All you have to do is lay horizontally across the two escalator railings that are moving in different directions. Laying acrossed the railings results in you continuously spinning in circles. This idea has become a meme because people have been uploading a bunch of videos of themselves attempting the ESCALATOR SPIN.
